These policies operationalize the Lab’s transparency standard. They define how evidence is labeled, corrected, credited, protected and disclosed, and are revised as the Lab accumulates contributors, users and commissioned work.
Research Ethics
Human-subject or sensitive-data work requires an explicit ethical and legal basis before collection.
Conflicts of Interest
Material financial, personal and commissioning conflicts are disclosed with affected outputs.
Data Protection & Privacy
Collect the minimum personal data necessary; do not publish private personal data as evidence.
Corrections & Retractions
Corrections preserve version history, describe impact and link superseded releases. Retractions retain a public record of the reason and affected claims.
Authorship & Contribution
Credit follows documented contribution; advisory conversations are not authorship.
Accessibility
Core research information should remain readable without interactive JavaScript where feasible.
Data Licensing
Original Lab code and documentation follow repository licensing; source-data rights remain with publishers.
Security & Vulnerability Disclosure
Security or vulnerability reports are handled privately and remediated before unnecessary public technical detail is released.
