Because a revision study is stronger when the first information set was frozen before the later value existed in our evidence record.
This page makes no prediction about the next comparable estimate. It may move up, move down or remain unchanged. If a later official vintage is observed, MENA Lab will append it and calculate a revision only after checking that the statistical object remains comparable.
Precommitted comparison rule
For a later directly comparable year-on-year real-GDP growth estimate for Saudi Arabia in Q2 2026, MENA Lab will report:

The result will be expressed in percentage points. A methodology, scope, price/volume, seasonal-adjustment or classification break will be marked BREAK rather than forced into an ordinary revision calculation.
What is—and is not—being claimed
Claim: GASTAT's Q2 2026 flash-estimate release reports real GDP growth of −4.8% year on year, oil-activity growth of −24.7%, non-oil-activity growth of +0.6%, and government-activity growth of +0.9%.
Not claimed: that a later estimate must differ, that the flash estimate is erroneous, or that any future difference has a particular cause.
